I shared the middle of the stage with Clement Yearwood during most of the round and could tell it was a tight battle between us. The classes were split to ensure an even number of competitors in each class, and as luck would have it, I weighed in as the heaviest lightweight lbs - giving me the opportunity to attempt to defend my class title. I was pleasantly surprised with the number of back shots called, which I consider to be a strength for me, and not quite as much emphasis on the front relaxed pose as there had been the year before. His massive size and picture-perfect symmetry proved to be a winning combination. As the heavyweights took the stage, the immediate favorite was the immense Martin Daniels, with the waist of a lightweight but mass of a superheavyweight. I was most impressed with Brandon Greenwood from England, with solid symmetry and undoubtedly the best condition in the class; and Shevon Cunningham, with a TON of muscle on his frame. In the MW class, Tyler English took 3rd and the lean Paul Iatomasi earned 2nd, with Miles Stovall reclaiming his early s glory with another class win at the World level. However, there were still many excellent physiques fighting for the MW crown. His massive quads are matched by enormous arms, a thick chest, and solid calves. I knew I was leaner than both of them, and was hopeful that some of my added size would put me over the edge, although I did not carry as much sheer mass.

Martin is a very laid back guy and is easily approachable even though he looks like a monster! I shared the middle of the stage with Clement Yearwood during most of the round and could tell it was a tight battle between us. In the end, Brandon Greenwood's combination of size, condition, and symmetry proved too much for me to overcome and he headed back to England with an overall trophy in hand.
A BIG congrats to Giant Killer, Shaun Clarida!

This year, after splitting the classes evenly, the lightweight cutoff was higher than usual at lbs. Alun Davies of the U. Finally, Clement Yearwood's name was called for 2nd, which meant that I had come away with a class win and had successfully defended my title.

Interview with natural bodybuilder Shaun Clarida. Shaun Clarida: The WNBF Pro Worlds this November will be my 4th show this season.
Clement's personality and physique impressed me greatly - his symmetry is borderline unbeatable and his legs are fantastic - and I congratulated him on a well-fought battle on the stage. New York was once again the host of the World Championships, but the number of competitors was a bit down this year with only 32 pro men compared to around 40 each of the previous 2 years.
Luis Santiago claimed 4th with full muscle bellies, and last year's runner up Shaun Clarida took 3rd with improvements to his already impressive back and arms.

My weight was exactly the same as it was the year before lbs but I had attempted to weigh in light, and was probably closer to onstage. The giant Martin Daniels took 3rd in the heavies, with Roy Perry taking 2nd and Rodney Helaire again winning the class.
